The Vaaka factor: Our partnership with Kotikatu began in 2015, when together with the company founders, we developed a growth strategy that leveraged their unique business model and helped the company to grow to the market leader position in Finland. Since 2015, Kotikatu has increased its net sales four-fold to over €100m and expanded its service coverage by acquiring more than 30 maintenance companies across Finland.

The big picture: In Finland, the market for residential facilities services is roughly €1b. The market is highly fragmented, a typical turnover of a maintenance service company is less than €2m. Innovative companies with scale, like Kotikatu, are therefore in a position to benefit from the changing customer requirements regarding e.g. digitalization and service portfolio, and to capture market share.
