Produal to acquire the Swedish building automation specialist Zone Controls
Through the acquisition, Produal will expand its product range with room control systems for managing indoor climates. The systems will help improve the energy efficiency of buildings and decrease their carbon footprint. The deal improves Produal’s position in Sweden.
Produal, a Finnish specialist in building automation technology, will acquire the Swedish company Zone Controls. Founded in 1990, Zone Controls specialises in electronic room control systems and air volume control systems.
– The energy efficiency of buildings, indoor air quality and environmental sustainability are international megatrends. The automated control solutions developed by Zone Controls will enable our clients to significantly reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint, says Produal’s managing director Ari Mårtensson.

Aiming at strong and orderly growth
The Produal Group’s goal is strong and orderly growth, as modern building standards, the increasing use of automation and changes in national and European regulations have increased the demand for measurements carried out in buildings.
– Building automation makes it possible to control the air conditioning, lighting and room temperature, for example in shopping centres, sports facilities, schools and hospitals. A building with a good automation system uses less energy because rooms are not heated or cooled down when the space is not being used,” Mårtensson explains.
The acquisition of Zone Controls will support Produal’s internationalisation strategy and significantly improve the company’s position in the Swedish market.
